Blue Jasmine

Spring is finally here in New Zealand! Now it’s time to bring out the vibrant colours, floaty fabrics and soak up the sunshine.

I am a total magpie when it comes to crazy fabrics and cool patterns, so I pounced on this skirt at the Fashion Week sample sale as quick as a lion on his prey. If I didn’t have it, neither would anyone else… just kidding. I’m a big fan of the “awkward length” as it makes me feel elegant and comfortable. Paired with a simple tee and grungy jacket, you can easily take a more demure skirt from conservative to chic.

Top: Vintage Country Road • Skirt: Lonely Hearts • Jacket: Veda x Madewell • Shoes: Gorman • Necklace: Anthropologie • Lipstick: Magic Tink Tint • Nails: Maybelline

The outfit was inspired by Olivia Palermo, the woman who I was once mistaken for on the streets of NYC, and it’s safe to say that is my biggest claim to fame yet…

Love,

    Blue Jasmine

A silky skirt of vibrant mood,
    Of water, flow and soul,
Obsessed with wind it follows suit,
In gusts to dance its role.

Her flowy hair of winding brooks
    On collarbones extends,
So calm in wind to keep her look,
    Her inner strength a friend.

Her necklace broad, a bounteous touch,
    In chorus soft and bright,
Beneath her neck, a lure as such,
    It shines a radiant light.

The skirt might have looked better in flower print for the spring time. Anyway, it looks beautiful on you and that’s good enough for most shoppers. 😉
